Antique Re-purposed Civil War Sword Blade: $125.00
Personal provenance, Acquired at a Mike Kent Civil War artifact show in 2011 from a vendor specializing in Chickamauga-area collection pieces. According to the vendor's account, this blade originated from the Chickamauga battlefield region, where broken weapons were salvaged and repurposed by survivors into practical agricultural tools for subsistence farming in the post-war years. The curved profile and construction suggest it was originally a cavalry saber or similar military blade that sustained battle damage, then was carefully reworked with a new wood handle for use as a cane cutter or similar farm implement—a tangible reminder of how soldiers and civilians transformed instruments of war into tools for survival and rebuilding.
