Dating to approximately 1905–1910, this Edwardian-era postcard features a beautifully staged sentimental scene of a young woman mourning beside a stone bench, illustrating the popular early 20th-century song Blue Bell.

The lower portion contains a printed verse from the song, credited to Edward Madden and Theodore F. Morse.
