Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic antique 3-piece Japanese export porcelain condiment set, including a covered sugar bowl, matching under-saucer, and original porcelain serving spoon. The bottom of the piece features the historic blue \"Hand Painted NIPPON\" Rising Sun backstamp, which firmly dates this set to the desirable 1891–1921 era before the country mark was legally changed to \"Japan.\"
Each piece is entirely hand-painted, showcasing a delicate wild rose or azalea floral motif in shades of pink and green against a soft, pastel-shaded background. Elegant hand-applied gold accents trim the rims, handles, and spoon.
Condition:
The set is in excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks, or flea bites on the bowl, lid, or saucer. The delicate hand-painted pigments remain incredibly vibrant. There is only negligible, age-appropriate surface wear to the gold trim, which is remarkable for a set that is over 100 years old. The tiny matching porcelain spoon shows a minor, faint surface discoloration near the joint from manufacturing/age, but remains structurally sound
