Blue Rising Sun Nippon Mark:
The pieces bear the historic blue Rising Sun backstamp reading “HAND PAINTED NIPPON.” This desirable early Japanese export mark is associated with the Nippon era prior to the change in U.S. marking requirements from “Nippon” to “Japan.” This dates the set to approximately 1911–1921, making it more than 100 years old.
