History:
The Methodist congregation was among the earliest religious organizations established in Cheney, Washington, serving the growing community that developed alongside the arrival of the Northern Pacific Railroad and the founding of what is now Eastern Washington University. The church became an important center for worship and community gatherings during the town\'s formative years. Local businesses, including C.E. Hathaway & Madsen\'s Pharmacy, often sponsored or distributed postcards showcasing notable Cheney landmarks, making these cards desirable souvenirs and historical records of the community.

The undivided back design, with a dedicated correspondence area on the left and address panel on the right, places this postcard in the 1901–1907 era. As an unused example, it provides a well-preserved glimpse into early 20th-century Cheney.
