Antique Lonergan Brass Steam Whistle From Detroit Zoo Original Locomotive 1931 For Sale

This antique brass Lonergan steam whistle is from the original locomotive that was donated by the Detroit news in 1931. It was used at the zoo grounds until 1949 when Chrysler donated three modern style steam locomotives. The man who retrieved it Worked as animal keeper Detroit zoo for 23 year. They had a junk pile there and when they dismantled the train he took the whistle from the trash pile in the 1960s or 70s. The whistle measures a little over 3 inches round and it is about 11 inches tall. It has the original chain that was used to blow the whistle and it’s mounted on a nice piece of wood.
