Beautiful and atmospheric antique portrait of a young child displayed beneath original-style convex, or "bubble," glass in a large oval gold-finished frame.
The black-and-white/sepia portrait shows a young child standing beside a chair in a long white dress, creating a wonderful turn-of-the-century appearance. The oval frame features a warm aged gold finish with a raised beaded border surrounding the portrait.
The back retains an old fiberboard/cardboard backing and vintage hanging cord/wire. The aged construction, portrait style and convex glass are consistent with early 20th-century framed photography.
Approximate size: 22" tall × 16" wide.
Antique condition with expected age-related wear throughout. The gold finish shows areas of rubbing, small losses, scratches and surface wear consistent with age. The portrait shows age-related fading/toning and imperfections. Convex glass appears intact. Please review all photographs closely as they are an important part of the condition description.
A fantastic statement piece for an antique gallery wall, Victorian or Edwardian-inspired interior, dark academia décor, gothic décor, photography collection, oddities collection or period home.
