Antique Goodell-Pratt No 245 2-Speed Breast Drill Hand Crank Red Gear Tool:
$54.95

Antique Goodell-Pratt Company two-speed breast drill, manufactured by Goodell-Pratt Toolsmiths of Greenfield, Massachusetts.

This is a substantial early American hand drill featuring the large geared drive wheel, adjustable breast plate, wooden crank handle, side handle, and keyless chuck. The original red finish and much of the decorative Goodell-Pratt / American Manufacture lettering remain visible, giving it excellent antique-tool display appeal.

The crank arm is clearly marked “Goodell-Pratt Company Toolsmiths, Greenfield, Mass. U.S.A.” This style is associated with the Goodell-Pratt No. 245 two-speed breast drill. Period examples are also documented with Goodell-Pratt’s March 31, 1896 patent marking.

Shows honest age-related wear, scratches, finish loss, surface oxidation and patina. The red gear still displays very nicely. Wood handles show normal wear but present well. I have not restored or refinished the tool, preserving its antique appearance.

Please examine all photos closely for exact condition, markings and completeness. A great approximately century-old piece for an antique tool, woodworking or early American industrial collection.
