Chase "Animal Collection" carriage blanket, featuring an ornate "bear rug" layout with two mirroring raccoons or badgers framed by large, vibrant pink peonies.Manufactured by L.C. Chase & Co. at the Sanford Mills in Maine, this specific series is a premium example of late Victorian to early Edwardian craftsmanship

Woven with a plush face made of heavy mohair (angora goat hair) or blended horsehair, layered onto a dense, solid wool backing to create a windproof, heavily weighted barrier.Color Palette: The vibrant pinks, olive greens, and deep brown tones are remarkably well-preserved.
