Antique Belsnickel Santa Christmas Figure 8\" Rare READ As Is For Sale

Charming \"grumpy\" Belsnickel Santa figure.

*These highly collectible pieces originate from Germany and are over 100 years old.

*From research, this Belsnickel santa appears to be from around the turn of the century to the 1920s. However, there are no makers markings or labels on the figure. I am leaving it to the buyer/collector to determine this :)

*Appears to have the traditional composition of either clay/plaster and/or paper mache with a wire body. A brownish red robe. Holding a beating stick in its right hand. And hand painted eyes. 8 inches in height. ( photographed )

*Please note, I am not a collector or extremely familiar with these lovely collectors pieces. I am providing as much information and photos as possible. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have :)

*Condition - has obvious cosmetic wear. The robe and fabric have age related discoloration and/or staining and soiling. The left hand is damaged and appears a small part is missing. Chips and wear to the boots. Beard is not super full. However, this still presents beautifully. And the wear is consistent with age.
