Antique Articulated Carved Wood Doll Mannequin Figure Folk Art Jointed Sitter For Sale

Up for sale is a striking and highly unique antique fully articulated carved wooden doll or artist mannikin figure. This piece features a wonderfully chiseled bald style wood carved head with hand sculpted facial features and an incredible natural aged patina.

The torso is a sophisticated piece of early craftsmanship featuring an authentic pinned mortise hip joint assembly with visible wood plugs and dual parallel tension cord holes on the chest and back which are characteristic of premium early 20th century wood figures or studio layout models.

Regarding the condition and details, the doll is made of solid carved hardwood with a beautiful rich historical patina. The swivel neck and hip leg joints are fully functional, allowing the doll to sit cleanly and hold its poses well.

The arms are entirely missing, though the internal wooden shoulder mortise and tenon disc swivels are still present and intact inside the arm sockets. This makes it an excellent candidate for restoration or a historic display fragment. The doll comes fully dressed in a premium custom vintage hand knit striped wool crewneck sweater with ribbed detailing and textured green wool tweed trousers held with a vintage safety pin.

Please review all high resolution photos closely to inspect the wood grain, joint construction, and missing arm sockets. This is being sold exactly as is as a beautiful piece of rustic folk art decor or a restoration project.
