These design elementsencircling the shieldsymbolize allegiance to the British empire. ‘God and my right,’ is the monarch’s motto of the United Kingdom.
The base of the lower edge of the insignia has the maker’s mark Heaton stamped on it. Heaton, Birmingham is known for creating metalwork.Condition is good with slight discoloration to the brass, but overall still bright and shiny.
