Antique 1930s Japan Celluloid Santa Sleigh 4 Reindeer Christmas Set Vintage For Sale

Antique Japanese Celluloid Santa Claus Sleigh with 4 Reindeer Christmas Set

Wonderful early vintage Christmas display featuring a celluloid Santa seated in a bright red sleigh along with four matching reindeer.

All of the pieces have the same molded JAPAN mark with circular symbol above, and one reindeer and the sleigh also retain matching old inspection stamps/labels, helping confirm that these pieces probably belong together.

The reindeer have wonderful molded detail with large antlers, open mouths and their original red and cream coloring. Santa is hand painted and still holds a remnant of the original reins/string in his hand.

Approximate measurements:

• Sleigh: 5 1/2" long x 2 1/4" wide x 4 1/2" tall
• Reindeer: approximately 5 1/2" long x 4 3/4" tall each

Condition:
This is an old and fragile celluloid set and shows age-related wear throughout. Please review all photos carefully.

• Santa has some indentations/denting to his face and head.
• Santa retains a portion of the old reins/string in his hand; the string has old tape holding part of it together.
• Sleigh has a broken/damaged area at the rear as shown.
• Sleigh has age-related surface wear, dirt/residue and discoloration.
• Reindeer show paint loss, scuffs, spots and general surface wear.
• Only two of the original red rhinestone eyes remain attached among the four reindeer.
• One reindeer has indentations/denting to the celluloid body.
• One reindeer has a partially broken/cracked leg, shown in the photos.
• There may be other small age-related imperfections consistent with the fragile nature of antique celluloid.

Despite the condition issues, this is a charming and increasingly difficult-to-find early Japanese Christmas display, especially with Santa, sleigh and four matching reindeer still together.

Sold as an antique collectible/display piece. Please use the photos as an important part of the condition description.
