ANTIQUE Hand Painted Nippon Mustard Pot with Lid, 1891-1921 Morimura M in Wreath:
$21.11

This authentic antique hand-painted Nippon porcelain mustard pot features the highly collectible green "M in Wreath" Morimura Brothers backstamp indicating that this historic condiment jar was crafted in Japan between 1891 and 1921.

The fine porcelain base and matching lid showcase a beautiful, delicate motif of hand-painted pink and purple roses accented by soft green leaves. The floral windows are framed by a beige-tan border heavily decorated with ornate raised gold moriage detailing, relief scrollwork, and a completely gilded handle and lid finial knob. The lid features a slot cutout intended to accommodate a small serving spoon.

Measurements:

• Length: 4 inches from back of handle to front rim (approx. 10.2 cm)

• Height: 2.5 inches with lid included (approx. 6.4 cm)

• Diameter: 3 inches across the widest part of the bowl (approx. 7.6 cm)

Condition:

Very good antique condition. There are no structural cracks, hairline fractures, or deep chips to the porcelain.
