4pc Antique STERLING Silver 1940-1960s Starburst Coaster Set For Sale

These coasters represent a classic style of mid-century American barware, likely dating from the 1940s to the 1960s. The set features sterling silver rims with a \"pierced gallery\" or vertical slotted design, paired with starburst cut glass (sometimes called \"sunburst\") bottoms. This design was highly popular in the United States as elegant entertaining became a staple of post-war domestic life. During this era, high-end silversmiths combined glass with silver to create durable yet sophisticated accessories that prevented condensation from damaging wood furniture.
