EXTREMELY RARE 1986 ORIGINAL SOVIET USSR PROPAGANDA POSTER TRIPTYCH – V. SACHKOV – VICTORY DAY.
COMPLETE ORIGINAL THREE-SHEET SET, Complete original three-sheet Soviet poster/triptych by Vladimir V. Sachkov, 9 May — Victory Day!, Plakat, Moscow, 1986. Approximately 38 × 79 inches assembled. Three separate original sheets, acquired personally by me in Moscow in 1986 and retained in my possession since. The State Historical Museum, Moscow, catalogs the left panel of this triptych as 1976.

Date: 1986 — the production information indicated it was approved for printing on 6 December 1985, making it a 1986 publication.

Format: Three separate poster sheets designed to join together as one continuous panoramic composition. Yours is complete. Overall, measured at approximately 38 × 79 inches (97 × 201 cm).

The principal wording translates approximately as:

“9 May — Victory Day!”
“Glory to the Soviet soldier, the victorious soldier!”

This panel looks extremely impressive when put in a row and the colors still really pop.. All three posters have been rolled up and stored in a smoke three home but being rolled up for almost 40 years does mean there is some creasing and there is some edge wear which is noticeable in places. Overall condition is very good with no large tears or rips and no noticeable discoloration. And I'm sure if professionally resored, framed and mounted this panel would look awesome.
