1983 Honda CR50R Motocross Dirt Bike 8x10 Glossy Photo Print Monster Art For Sale

This wild illustration puts Honda\'s little CR50R into full motocross attack mode. A yellow-skinned, bug-eyed mutant with enormous teeth and a blue mohawk is launching the red Honda over a wooden jump, with the rear tire throwing dirt and rocks through a bright rural off-road landscape.

The CR50R is one of the more obscure members of Honda\'s legendary CR motocross family.

Period Honda advertising described the CR50R as all-new for 1984. Despite its miniature dimensions, this wasn\'t simply a recreational minibike dressed up to resemble a racer. Honda equipped it with an air-cooled single-cylinder two-stroke engine, six-speed gearbox and Pro-Link rear suspension, essentially giving young riders a scaled-down competition-style CR machine. Honda\'s period material quoted approximately 10 bhp, a substantial figure for such a small machine.

The suspension was serious for its size as well. Honda listed 30mm front forks with approximately 205mm of travel, while the Pro-Link rear suspension provided approximately 210mm of travel. The motorcycle was intended for off-road competition use.

Parts documentation also confirms the CR50R within Honda\'s 1980s 50cc range, with CR50R applications beginning in 1983/84-era production, depending on market/model coding. This is therefore one of those unusual little Hondas that can attract both vintage minibike collectors and enthusiasts of Honda\'s much larger CR80R, CR125R, CR250R and CR500R motocross machines.
