About the Machine
The 1972 Rupp Scrambler was one of the last minibike models produced by Rupp Industries of Mansfield, Ohio, during the height of America\'s minibike boom. Designed as an affordable off-road machine, the Scrambler combined simple construction with dependable performance, making it popular with young riders and backyard racers.
Power came from a Tecumseh H35 four-stroke engine producing approximately 3.5 horsepower. A centrifugal clutch transferred power to the rear wheel, providing simple operation and reliable trail performance. The lightweight frame, motorcycle-style front forks, and rugged construction helped make the Scrambler one of the most recognizable minibikes of the era.
For 1972, Rupp updated the appearance with black-painted frame components paired with a red fuel tank and rear fender. As minibike sales declined in the early 1970s, the Scrambler became one of the final representatives of Rupp\'s legendary minibike lineup. Today it remains a favorite among collectors thanks to its distinctive styling, American manufacturing heritage, and connection to the golden age of minibiking.
