Karlsruhe, Germany - Dr. Otto John, former West German Chief of Security who defected to East Germany then re-defected to the West, is shown (right) arriving at the Federal Court Building in Karlsruhe for the start of his trial on November 12. Two detectives are with him. Dr. John pleads that he was drugged and taken into East Germany against his will and that he played along with the Communists until he got a chance to flee back to the West.
