$21.95

An original vintage black and white studio photograph of an African American couple posed before a painted garden backdrop — the woman seated, wearing a hat, glasses, and gloves with a clutch in her lap, the man standing beside her in a double-breasted pinstripe suit. The back is stamped by the photographer: \"VENDITTI — PHOTOGRAPHER — 807 - 3RD STREET, N.W. — WASHINGTON 1, D.C.\", with the date stamp \"SEP 11 1946\". A fully documented portrait and a fine piece of Black Americana vernacular photography.
The photograph measures 5 1/2 x 4 inches and has deckled edges. The print is wrinkled, with edge and corner wear — see the photos. Printed on Velox paper; no other writing on the front or back.
