Offered here is an impressive vintage 1945 Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine certificate issued in the name of John Clifford Anderson of Malden, Massachusetts.
The document states that Anderson was a graduate of Tufts Medical School in 1939 and had been examined and found qualified by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine to be registered as a qualified physician under the laws of the Commonwealth.
The certificate is dated October 18, 1945, Boston, Massachusetts and bears Certificate No. 20439.
It also includes the notation:
“Certificate of National Board of Medical Examiners accepted.”
The certificate displays an impressive gold-colored Board of Registration in Medicine seal near the bottom and handwritten signatures in the designated Chairman and Secretary areas.

CONDITION
This is a genuine vintage estate-sale item showing substantial age and wear.
The paper exhibits overall age toning/yellowing, discoloration, spotting/staining and other marks consistent with decades of age and storage. Some areas of discoloration are more noticeable around the margins.
The black frame shows scratches, scuffs, finish loss, small chips and general age-related wear.
The reverse retains its older paper backing and hanging wire. The backing also shows age and wear.
The current seller has not removed the document from its frame. Therefore, areas concealed by the frame, glass and backing have not been inspected.
