1911 The World in Boston Missionary Expo RPPC Cinderlla Stamp Postcard: $18.95
- This is a scarce 1911 antique real photo postcard (RPPC) connected to The World in Boston Missionary Exposition, which ran at the Mechanics Building from April 24 to May 20, 1911.The front displays an authentic real photograph of three women wearing distinctive, dark-bordered cloaks and veils, likely staging a scene for the famous Pageant of Darkness and Light or representing a specific international mission exhibit at the fair. Screening indicates these are exhibition participants rather than widely famous historical figures. The back features an unposted Velox stamp box (dating 1907-1914) but holds incredible value due to a rare, brightly colored poster stamp or cinderella stamp affixed to the left side. The promotional stamp reads The World in Boston, Mechanics Building, America's First Great Missionary Exposition, complete with an illustration of a figure in robes.Condition Notes:
- Front: The photograph is sharp with excellent detail and deep sepia tones. Very slight silvering in the dark grass area and minor edge wear.
- Back: Superb condition. The colors on the cinderella stamp remain vibrant and crisp. Minimal age-toning with a couple of faint pencil marks.
Please review the high-resolution images carefully to inspect the condition before purchasing.
