Original antique billhead dated March 8, 1905, featuring the National Biscuit Company and Continental Biscuit Company of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The invoice was issued to Wyant & Dickinson Bros. of Shellsburg, Iowa, for “Shells” and “Petite Oysters,” with a total of $8.63. It features an attractive Continental Biscuit Company portrait trademark and ornate “Crackers & Cakes” advertising typography. National Biscuit Company was the company that later became known as Nabisco, making this an interesting piece of early food-industry and advertising history. TheNational Biscuit Company was created in 1898 by combining several major baking companies. This billhead is a good example of how the company continued using historic regional bakery names immediately afterward. Approximate measurements: 8.5\"× 7\". The billhead will be placed in a protective sleeve and shipped flat between rigid cardboard.
