This appears to be a handmade illustrated poem scrapbook dating from around 1890 to 1910, filled with cut-outs from contemporary magazines and original rhyming verses. It combines humorous observations, fashion and travel motifs, and social commentary typical of the playful domestic arts practiced by women and girls in the late Victorian to Edwardian periods.
UNDATED - c1895 . The cut-outs resemble late Victorian/Edwardian era engravings and chromolithographs, typical of periodicals and advertisements from the late 19th to early 20th century.

Oh, the steamer’s horn is blowing
The tugs ply to and fro,
And sooty clouds are flowing
From the smoke stack as they go.
She has flown far off and left us
Grief descends, a sombre pall
And what our total loss is now
We can\'t sum up at all.
Page 2
We aid each other, all we can
To get a parting view
And finally one goes aloft
The very highest flew.
Thus sadly, sadly we return
To the stone town back again
(But just between ourselves you know)
The times return again.
Page 3
No matter where we go to bed,
No matter when one dies,
The coffee\'s bad, the dancing hall
Is DANGEROUS with guys.
And as for books, the very best
Are duller than the skies.
Page 4
How fresh and young must it feel!
How much we like to ride!!!
But now the horses once we liked
Shows quite another side.
Page 5
But are there three more pretty girls
At Hot Springs? If you ask
Oh yes I think perhaps there are
But dancing\'s now a task.
Page 6
For SHE of whom one is thinking
Is dancing on the sea
All envy all those sailor boys
Who have her company.
Page 7
Ah, we\'ll visit all those southern climes
Through sunny Italy
And not forget that lovely France
And tropic gay Paris!
Page 8
See all the famous portraits and
Two by the London Statues
And know who heads that crew so fine,
I guess he minds his wits.
But there is Mr. Douglass?
He is one all know too
Because he is the only one
That makes the famous show.
Page 9
Oh, look at people jumping there!!!!!
She goes to England next,
They\'re firing off salutes like made
That Edward may not be vexed.
Page 10
That sonnet from the mountain side
Needs clearing I suppose.
Bars looked like this for hours
And then, he wrote in prose.
I sharpened me a pencil good
Sat down under a tree
And presently the verse flood forth
Like the lark so wild and free.

On land and on water, both alike
We wish HER voyage
When SHE returns we promise her
A WELCOME
