**Studio Backmark Information:**The reverse side is adorned with an incredibly sharp, gold-gilt typography mark reading:\"From the Photographic Art Gallery of John Robertson, Plattville, Wis. Negatives retained for future orders at reduced prices.\"John Robertson built his permanent studio at 60 E. Main Street in Platteville in 1874, dating this card precisely to his historic peak operating period (ca. 1874–1881).
