Wwii American Red Cross US Navy Scarf Knitting Instructions Document Dec 1941 For Sale

This is an original World War II era document, a set of knitting instructions issued by The American National Red Cross for making a scarf for the U. S. Navy. The document is identified as ARC 400-4A, revised December 1941 (Rev. Dec. 1941), making it an early piece from the United States\' involvement in WWII. It features a stamp from the \'CHAPTER JASPER CO., IOWA AMERICAN RED CROSS\'. The instructions detail the required equipment (yarn, needles) and the step-by-step process for knitting the scarf. This piece represents a tangible link to the homefront efforts and the significant contributions of American civilians, particularly women, in supporting the war effort through volunteer work and patriotic initiatives. The document shows signs of age consistent with its vintage, including creasing from folding, general discoloration, and some visible staining or foxing, as depicted in the images. Despite its age, the text remains fully legible, offering a clear glimpse into the past. An excellent addition for collectors of WWII homefront memorabilia, Red Cross history, or US Navy historical documents.
