Vtg MCM Black Ceramic Dachshund Planter (Wiener Dog Mid Century) High Gloss For Sale

So during Post WWII there was a housing boom in the 1950\'s.  One of the most popular decorative pieces were animal figurines and planters.  All American was in this graze and it was fueled by companies like Royal China Novelty Co. and McCoy pottery.  These planters were known as TV planters as they sat on top of wooden console television sets.  This Dachshund planter totally embodies this it is a perfect example of the Atomic era aesthetic.

This adorable glossy black Dachshund is unmarked which is not uncommon (during that time period a lot of items had paper labels) but it is very similar to Royal China Novelty Co., and McCoy Pottery. (another clue are the unglazed dry foot base paws)

This would be the prefect decoration!  I would not plant live plants as there is no water draining in the bottom - but all other items are only limited by your imagination

Please note that all vintage, antique or secondhand items will have some level of wear.

Your order will always be packaged with great care!

Pictures are considered part of the description, please feel free to message me with any questions. And lastly....
