Vintage Vietnam War POW/MIA Stainless SteeBracelet: Major James Hivner:
$40.00

The POW/MIA Bracelet Campaign: These bracelets were a prominent symbol of the Vietnam War, introduced in late 1970 by the student-led organization VIVA (Voices in Vital America).

Purpose: People across the United States wore them to raise awareness and demand accountability for American prisoners of war (POWs) and service members missing in action (MIA).

Major James (Jim) Hivner was an Air Force pilot who became a prisoner of war in North Vietnam after being shot down on October 5, 1965 (the date on the bracelet). He was later released during Operation Homecoming in 1973.
