Vintage Turkish / Balkan Mauser M1909-Style Three-Pocket Leather Ammunition Pouch
Original vintage military leather ammunition pouch of the Mauser M1909-style three-cell pattern.
Constructed from heavy brown leather with three large ammunition compartments, brass-colored closure studs, two broad rear belt loops and a central rear D-ring.
Each compartment retains its original internal leather divider. The divider creates two sections within each pouch, allowing approximately four 5-round Mauser stripper/charger clips per compartment — 20 rounds per pocket and approximately 60 rounds total capacity.
This configuration is characteristic of the earlier M1909-style Mauser ammunition pouch system, rather than the smaller-capacity later WWII German K98 pouch.
The rear leather strap is marked:
L C2 F 66
The exact meaning of the marking has not been determined and may represent an arsenal, unit, inventory or individual equipment marking.
