Vintage Soviet USSR Stalinist Empire Wall Sconce Hammer Sickle Star Cast Metal For Sale

An impressive and highly decorative original Soviet-era wall light fixture featuring classic Stalinist Empire / Soviet Neoclassical design.

The heavy cast-metal body is richly decorated with raised ornamental borders, floral motifs and unmistakable Soviet symbols: a large five-pointed star at the top and the hammer and sickle emblem below.

The reverse retains original cast markings including “БССР” (BSSR / Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic), “г. Лида” (Lida) and additional factory markings.

This is an especially striking piece of Soviet architectural and interior design. Its monumental appearance makes it suitable not only for a historical or Soviet collection but also as a dramatic accent in a modern, industrial, eclectic, Art Deco or classical interior.
