Vintage Sawyer\'s View-Master Model D - Black Bakelite Deluxe Focusing ViewerProduct Overview
Up for sale is a vintage Sawyer’s View-Master Model D deluxe 3D stereo viewer. Produced between 1954 and 1972, the Model D is widely considered by enthusiasts to be the finest and most luxurious viewer ever built by View-Master, featuring a built-in focusing mechanism and premium high-magnification lenses.
This standalone unit features a clean, glossy black Bakelite body with the iconic silver/white \"VIEW-MASTER\" faceplate on the front.Functional Condition & Restoration Notes
Please read the functional details carefully before purchasing:
• Focus Knobs: Fully Functional. The focusing adjustment knobs rotate smoothly and adjust the internal lenses perfectly.
• Advance Lever: Fully Functional. The pull-down advance mechanism operates cleanly and clicks precisely to cycle through positions.
• Internal Lighting System: Non-Functioning / Needs Attention. The original light bulb is physically present inside the unit. However, upon testing with fresh batteries, the light did not turn on. The issue may simply be minor corrosion on the copper battery contacts or a burned-out bulb filament that needs replacing.
Because the body is structurally sound and the mechanical adjustments operate flawlessly, this is a prime candidate for a quick restoration project or an addition to a vintage camera collection.Cosmetic Condition
• The Bakelite body is in very good vintage condition with a nice deep shine.
• No major cracks, deep gouges, or structural damage.
• The silver faceplate shows normal, light vintage wear consistent with age.Shipping & Handling
