Vintage Polish Folk Art Skirt - Striped European Traditional Costume For Sale

Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic handmade vintage/antique traditional Eastern European striped folk skirt, acquired as part of a lot of Polish folk art costumes. This heavy, high-quality garment showcases traditional regional craftsmanship, making it a wonderful addition for collectors, historical reenactors, or cultural dancers.

Features classic horizontal stripes against a deep red/crimson background. This distinct striped layout heavily mirrors historical folk attire from central and eastern Poland, most notably the Łowicz, Opoczno, and Lublin regions.

Finished with a thick, structured black velvet or wool contrast band along the bottom hemline, a traditional technique used to weight the skirt and create a clean, elegant drape.Constructed with a simple linen or cotton blend top border featuring a functional tie to accommodate high-waisted wear.

Good vintage condition with beautiful color preservation. Shows authentic signs of age and wear typical of traditional folk textiles. Please review all photos closely to evaluate the fabric texture and construction details as they are a part of my description.

Measures approx. 36” long and top waistline about 16" untied.
