A vintage ceramic handpainted Navajo couple fashioned from Sittre Ceramics molds from 1981. Navajo woman (mold#938) has a long, turquoise blue blanket wrap, dark red pleated skirt with white blouse (turquoise jewelry around her neck line)… please note; there is a chip along bottom hem area as shown. Navajo man (mold#939) has a long textured white blanket wrap, (with dot-dash embellished pattern down front) and wears a traditional uncreased white Navajo hat (with turquoise, headband, and feathers) and has silver jewelry layered at his neckline. Please note, there are some dark scuff marks along his white robed, shoulder area, and in other places on his light textured robe surface (see photos.) Just need some TLC. The male statue is signed “T.T..”
Both statues are in sound vintage condition and definitely worthy of display in your Southwestern home or, to display in your store.
