Here is a vintage hand-blown mercury glass Christmas tree topper finial circa the 1950\'s. It is 11.5 inches tall. It is solid silver with a single bulb that is 2.5 inches in diameter. The wrapping is metallic tinsel or wire mesh which is usually associated with antique German, Lauscha, or mid-century holiday decorations.
• Material: Silver-finished blown mercury glass with a fine wire/tinsel net overlay.• Design: Features a central sphere (ball) section, a tapering spire top, and a hollow base stem designed to mount onto the top branch of a Christmas tree.• Origin/Style: Typical of vintage European glass-blowing traditions (such as Lauscha in Germany or antique 20th-century holiday crafts
Fair condition. The top tip is broken off a small amount. The bottom edge is intact. The bottom fitting has a lot of wear on the inside from rubbing on the tree branch. The finish has some small dull spots. It is wrapped with crimped wire that is dull, not shiny. It might be best for a restoration project.
