$99.98

Large vintage Japanese Satsuma-style oval decorative platter featuring an elaborate hand-painted interior scene with traditionally dressed figures, flowers and architectural details. The decoration includes raised moriage-style enamel outlining, extensive dotted accents, gilt highlights and finely crazed glaze.

Constructed from substantial, heavy pottery or earthenware and intended primarily as a decorative charger, cabinet piece or wall-display platter. A faint impressed or stamped marking is present on the underside but is not clearly legible.

Approximate measurements:

* Length: 16 inches

* Width: 13 inches

Vintage condition with overall glaze crazing, areas of gilt and finish wear, surface marks and age-related discoloration. Please review the close-up photographs carefully. A few glaze and manufacturing irregularities.

A matching large handled vessel is available separately and is not included with this platter.

Due to its age and unknown glaze composition, this piece is being sold as a decorative collectible rather than for food service. Display stand is not included.
