Vintage Indian Gurkha Kukri / Khukuri with classic forward-curving blade, full-tang construction, wood grip scales, large metal rivets, and steel pommel cap. The blade is clearly stamped “INDIA” on one side near the handle.
On the opposite side of the blade, near the cho, there are additional faint, worn stamped markings that may be old inspection or military-related marks. They are visible in the photographs but are too worn to positively identify, so this piece is being offered without a definitive WWII or military-issue attribution.
The kukri came from a large New York City estate collection of military edged weapons sold through Gold Coast saleeers in Plainview, New York. The original grouping included Serbian, Romanian, German, Belgian, British, Yugoslavian, and other military bayonets and edged weapons.
The knife has substantial age and character. The blade shows dark patina, oxidation, scattered pitting, scratches, discoloration, and surface wear throughout. The wood grip also shows age, handling wear, and surface marks. The rivets and pommel cap display corresponding oxidation and patina. Overall, the piece has an honest, untouched estate appearance and has not been polished or refinished.
The construction is consistent with the broad family of Indian military-pattern / Mk III-style Gurkha kukris, though the exact maker, date, and original issue status are unknown. No sheath or accessory knives are included unless specifically shown in the photographs.
