Discover a captivating piece of history with this vintage "Gruss aus Garmisch" postcard, showcasing a vibrant street scene from the picturesque Bavarian town. The front features a detailed photographic image, likely a collotype, depicting traditional architecture, a prominent church tower, and the majestic mountains in the background. Several villagers, including adults and children, are visible, offering a glimpse into daily life during the early 20th century. The scene is further enriched by bundles of wood, suggesting a rural or alpine setting.Published by F. X. Seitz, a renowned photographer and publisher from Garmisch, this postcard is an authentic "Originalaufnahme" (original photograph). The classic "Gruss aus" (Greetings from) style, combined with the undivided back, places it squarely in the Golden Age of postcards, making it a desirable item for collectors of German topographical views, Bavarian history, or early photographic prints. Its historical and thematic significance offers a unique window into a bygone era of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
