Vintage Gold Leaf Wood Frame Deep Cove Profile Red Bole Showing 16x12 Opening For Sale

Well-made gold leaf picture frame with a deep cove profile and genuine hand-applied gold leaf over red bole (clay undercoat) — visible red showing through at the worn high points, a hallmark of true gilding rather than gold paint. Rich, warm tone with soft distressing throughout that reads as intentional antiqued finish as much as honest age.

Opening: 16" x 12"
Deep, substantial profile — see ruler photo for reference (approx. 3.5" wide rails)

Condition: gilt finish is well-worn/rubbed through to the red bole in places as shown and pictured — this is consistent with genuine water-gilded construction and adds character rather than detracting. Solid wood build, corner bracing intact on the back. No glass, mat, or backing included — sold as the frame only.
