Vintage French Porcelain Hinged Box W La Nation 1789 Revolution Figural Clasp For Sale

Hand-painted hinged porcelain box decorated “W La Nation 1789,” referencing the patriotic ceramics produced during the French Revolution. Comparable historical “W La Nation” inscriptions are documented in the Musée Carnavalet collection. Features red and blue painted borders, interior decoration, an elaborate figural metal clasp, traditional metal hinge and an unidentified hand-painted decorator's monogram to the underside. Exact maker and date remain unidentified; therefore this piece is conservatively described as vintage rather than attributed to a specific Limoges manufacturer.
