Vintage Egyptian Museum Replica Set Met MFA King Lion Papyrus Girl Brass Style: $250.00
Vintage Egyptian Museum Replica Set Met MFA King Lion Papyrus Girl Brass StyleBeautiful vintage grouping of three Egyptian museum reproduction statuettes, individually acquired from major American museums between 1988 and 1999 and displayed together on a substantial black stone-style base. The grouping includes a dramatic Papyrus Flower Girl, a standing Egyptian king, and a reclining lion. Each represents an ancient Egyptian prototype from a different period, creating an especially attractive small collection of Egyptian sculptural forms.* Papyrus Flower Girl — Dynasty XVIII, approximately 1490–1363 BC. Acquired from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston in 1988. * Standing King — Dynasty XVIII, approximately 1334 BC. Acquired from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York in 1999. * Reclining Lion — Dynasty XII, approximately 1991–1786 BC. Acquired from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York in 1990.The Papyrus Flower Girl is particularly eye-catching, with an elongated Egyptian female figure supporting an enormous curved papyrus-inspired element overhead. The standing king features an elaborate royal headdress and finely detailed kilt, while the compact reclining lion completes the display. All three have a warm polished gold/brass appearance, beautifully contrasted against the substantial black veined display base. These are genuine vintage museum reproductions, not recently manufactured generic Egyptian décor. Together they form an unusual display assembled from pieces sourced from both the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.Condition: Very good vintage condition overall with normal surface wear, oxidation/tarnish, dust and age-related marks. The black base has scratches and surface wear consistent with display. Please examine all photographs closely for exact condition. The statuettes are 20th-century museum reproductions and are not ancient Egyptian artifacts. Exact metal and base materials have not been independently verified.
