Vintage Craftsman 4 lb single bit axe with the distinctive early “Big C” Craftsman logo and “REG. U.S. PAT. OFF.” marking. This Big C stamp is associated with 1950s Craftsman axe production.

Full-size Michigan-pattern head with a broad 5” cutting edge and separate 4 lb head-weight stamp. This example appears to retain its original wood handle, giving it strong period character and collector appeal.

CONDITION

Vintage used condition with age-related wear throughout. Axe head has surface oxidation, discoloration, scratches, pitting, small marks, and evidence of prior sharpening and use. The Craftsman Big C marking remains clearly visible.

The wood handle appears original and shows substantial age, checking, scratches, darkening, and wear from use. An old metal cross wedge is present in the eye. Please review all photos carefully as they are part of the description.
