Up for sale is a wonderfully charming Vintage 1960s/1970s Anthropomorphic Tiger Coin Bank. This delightful piece features a bright yellow finish, large whimsical blue eyes, hand-painted stripes, and a distinct pink rose accent on its side.
Unlike common ceramic variants, this bank is made of authentic vintage wood-pulp composition (compressed sawdust and resin). It has the distinct lightweight, warm, and rigid texture of solid softwood rather than hollow porcelain or ceramic. The coin slot is located on the back of the tiger's head. It is a fantastic display piece for collectors of mid-century kitsch, retro nursery decor, or whimsical vintage animal banks.
**Condition Note (Please Read & See Photos):**
This item is in vintage "as-is" condition with honest age wear. The front displays beautifully with vibrant colors and minimal paint loss.
Please note that there is a visible vertical age split/crack along the lower back near the original mold seam line (clearly highlighted in the final photos). This is a classic characteristic of vintage wood composition items as the fibers contract over the decades. The bank is structurally holding together fine for display, but it should be handled gently and is not recommended to be filled with heavy loose change. Has a new bottom stopper.
