Vintage 1950s Iwata Glass Tokyo Hand Blown Controlled Bubble Dish with Box For Sale

Vintage 1950s Japanese modern studio art glass dish handcrafted by the renowned Iwata Glass studio in Tokyo, Japan. This heavy, hand-blown glass tray features a signature controlled bubble technique, creating a dense layer of thousands of microscopic air bubbles trapped beneath clear glass to mimic the appearance of ocean foam. The center of the dish is detailed with custom gold lettering that reads "ZEBRAS".

The authentic round metallic foil maker's sticker remains fully intact on the front face of the dish, displaying the Iwata Glass chalice logo alongside the registration code

"TOKYO PAT 275773".

This piece includes its original green storage box and the traditional Japanese "noshi" paper gift wrapper. The wrapper features mid-century minimalist red and blue geometric ribbon graphics and Japanese text that translates directly to "Grand Opening Commemoration" for "Zebras." This indicates the piece was a high-end corporate commission produced as a limited promotional gift for a store opening.

The glass, foil label, and original commemorative packaging are all in excellent vintage condition.

Note: Gold wire stand not included.
