Vintage 1930s Art Deco Chrome Crumb Brush Tray Set Stand Silent Butler England For Sale

Beautiful vintage Art Deco chrome crumb brush and tray set with its matching tabletop stand, purchased from an antique shop in London, England.

Dating to approximately the 1930s Art Deco period, this charming three-piece dining accessory was designed for sweeping crumbs from the table between or after courses. The small brush and shaped crumb-catching tray each hang from the arms of the central stand when not in use.

The design is particularly attractive, with a streamlined Machine Age silhouette, polished chrome-colored finish, stepped circular base and distinctive open-loop handles. It makes a wonderful decorative object even when not being used.

The set includes:

* Crumb brush with warm brown/orange bristles

* Handheld crumb tray

* Matching tabletop display/storage stand

The assembled set measures approximately 7 inches tall and approximately 4½ inches across the upper portion. Please see the measurement photographs for additional scale.

Condition

Good vintage condition consistent with its age and original use.

The chrome-colored surfaces retain a lovely shine but show surface scratches, tarnish/discoloration, oxidation and other age-related wear, particularly around edges, seams and attachment points. The underside of the base retains its old green felt covering and shows age, wear and oxidation.

The brush remains quite full, although the natural-looking brown/orange bristles show some unevenness and wear. Both accessories hang properly from the stand.

No maker’s mark or hallmark has been found. Because the set is unmarked, the manufacturer, exact country of manufacture and metal composition are unknown.
