VINTAGE 1998 Potting Shed Santa Music Scroll Signed Limited Edition 13 Inch For Sale

Item Description
Christmas music has always been part of the magic of the winter season, from familiar carols sung around the tree to the sounds of instruments filling a home with holiday cheer. This 1998 Potting Shed Santa brings that tradition to life through a distinctive American pottery interpretation, with deep cobalt blue and cream decoration, an intricate crackle finish and a brilliant, glazed surface. A violin, scrolls of sheet music and a Christmas ornament nestle among evergreen branches and pinecones, bringing together familiar sights and sounds. Each detail contributes to a Santa Claus that celebrates the place music has held in Christmas traditions for generations.Collectible Notes
The Potting Shed based in Concord, Massachusetts, officially opened for business in 1977. Although the company has since closed and its Christmas figurines are no longer produced, its distinctive pottery remains a testament to the craftsmanship that defined the studio. This signed Limited Edition Santa, now discontinued, was created in 1998 through a manufacturing process that took approximately one week for each figurine. Beginning with a plaster mold, each piece was individually shaped and finished by hand before an artisan painted the decoration freehand, without stencils, decals or mechanical methods. Following the initial bisque firing, the figurine was hand-dipped in glaze, fired again and carefully hand-rubbed to bring out the intricate crackle pattern throughout the cream-colored surfaces. The result is a rich contrast between the deep cobalt blue and cream, finished with the brilliant gloss that distinguishes Potting Shed pottery. The authentic hand-painted signature includes Limited Edition, artist initials BR, the studio\'s five-pointed star, production year 98, USA origin, the copyright logo © and mold shape number H55.Condition and Measurements
