This is a very rare, very scarce pin. A similar pin is at the Smithsonian, which belonged to Eugene Kranz. This button for sale possibly belonged to someone who worked with him or on the Mission Control team.
It has a diameter of 2 inches. The body is a steel of some nature and the pin is copper.
Front:
- Light but overall scuffs and scratches. They are not entirely visible when it is looked at, but they are all over.
- Some local misprints of the image (e.g. a small yellow mark in the sun). This is under the plastic top cover.
Sides:
- Corrosion, oxidation, and rusting, varying from light to heavy.
Back:
- Corrosion, oxidation, and rusting, varying from light to heavy.
- Small dent corresponding to where the point of the pin met the rim of the pin’s body.
- Some dust trapped in the inside of the rim.
Pin:
- The pin has been bent up and somewhat deformed.
- The copper is rusting and the tip is forming a patina.
Please let me know if you have any other questions. I am happy to help. The pin will be shipped insured with signature confirmation.
