Reprint of the 1866 edition. Excellent brigade history which included 1st, 12th, 13th, 14th, Regiments and Orr's Rifles of South Carolina Volunteers. Includes a table of the brigade's casualties by regiment. Paperback.

The Brigade was among best of the Army of Northern Virginia serving from the beginning to Appomattox. First commanded Maxey Gregg and was part of A.P. Hill's Light Division, some of the best troops in Lee's Army. Gregg was killed at Fredericksburg. Samuel McGowan of the 14th Regiment was succeeded Gregg in command the brigade.
