The Amazing Spider-Man #345 (Marvel, March 1991) – Newsstand

KEY: Cletus Kasady is infected by the Venom symbiote and later becomes Carnage

“Gun from the Heart!” Justin Hammer secretly hires Spider-Man, through Silver Sable, to stop Cardiac, then hires Boomerang to take down Spider-Man. Meanwhile, the Venom symbiote breaks Eddie Brock out of prison and leaves a small trace of itself behind with his cellmate, Cletus Kasady. The cover’s Spider-Man vs. Boomerang fight inspired a shot in the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer.
