Superb Large Antique Copper Brass HINKS Lamp Glass Shade Electric Oil Rare 1890s For Sale

A STUNNING LARGE J. HINKS & SON CONVERTED VICTORIAN OIL LAMP WITH GLASS GLOBE SHADE
Made in Britain. All in very good antique condition.Wonderful Victorian brass and copper base and column with original large copper oil reservoir still mounted.Topped with an original Art Deco period large flambeau flame glass shade.Heavyweight and high quality from a renowned lamp maker.Cast iron weighted base with makers mark.
Dating to c.1880-90s. Originally an oil lamp, likely converted to electricity during the 1920s or 30s.The shade, lampholder and gallery are all in fitting with the 1920s period.Gorgeous black and red \"matchstick\" lampholder has been welded in place.
The brass and copper is all in excellent condition with a lovely lustre. Could be further polished to a high shine if desired.Areas of wear and aging in line with age. Presents very well. \"HINKS\" mark to bottom of copper base.The glass flame shade is also in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, just a few small nibbles around the fitting rim.Larger than a typical flame shade, completing the imposing stature of the lamp.It\'s a lovely pale white frosted glass. Looks fabulous and casts a warm light with a bold Art Deco style.
Carefully cleaned, tested, restored, and fully working.Recently rewired with whiskey coloured silk braided cable and fitted with an earth connection to comply with modern electrical standards. Ready to use and enjoy!
