History of Beatrix Potter Figurines
Beatrix Potter’s stories have captivated readers since the early twentieth century. Beginning with “The Tale of Peter Rabbit,” her charming narratives and delicate watercolour illustrations became timeless classics enjoyed by generations.
Frederick Warne & Co. published “The Tale of Peter Rabbit” in 1902 and continued its celebrated partnership with Potter through many of her best-loved books.
Beswick began producing licensed Beatrix Potter figurines in 1948, beginning with Jemima Puddle-Duck. Royal Doulton acquired Beswick in 1969, and production later transferred to Royal Albert in 1989. These character figurines remain cherished examples of British ceramic art.
